A seasoned TV personality and two Golden Globe winners will travel to the City of Angels to film a thriller series! Filming for Anya Taylor-Joy’s Apple TV+ series “Lucky” is scheduled to begin on March 20 in Los Angeles, California, and end on June 20, 2025. Jonathan Van Tulleken is the director, and Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas are the showrunners. Taylor-Joy will co-star with Timothy Olyphant and Annette Bening. The bestseller book of the same name by Marissa Stapley served as the inspiration for the series.
Taylor-Joy will play the title character in “Lucky,” a lady tormented by her tumultuous background. She has spent years attempting to forge a new life free from the shadows that once characterized her after leaving behind the life of crime in which she was raised. But when her history shows up, she has to face the more sinister and dangerous aspect of herself. Bening will portray the part of Priscilla, a strong mob boss who is essential in luring Lucky back into the criminal underworld. Olyphant will play Lucky’s father, John.
Taylor-Joy’s portrayal of Beth Harmon in the highly acclaimed television series “The Queen’s Gambit,” for which she won a Golden Globe, has brought her global attention. Among her notable roles in movies include “The Witch,” “Split,” and “Last Night in Soho.” She recently broadened her acting career by portraying the title heroine in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and making a brief appearance as Alia Atreides in “Dune: Part Two.”
Bening is well-known for her noteworthy roles in movies like “The Kids Are All Right” and “American Beauty.” Her most recent film roles were in “Poolman” as Diane Esplinade and “Nyad” as Diana Nyad. She was last featured in the miniseries “Apples Never Fall” as Joy Delaney. With his parts in TV shows like “Justified” and “Deadwood,” Olyphant has enthralled viewers and demonstrated the breadth and depth of his acting abilities. He most recently provided the voices of Goldfin in “Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and The Terminator in the television series “Terminator Zero.” Prior to that, he played Raylan Givens again in the television series “Justified: City Primeval.”
Jonathan Tropper is well-known for his roles in the sci-fi adventure movie “The Adam Project” and the action-packed television series “Banshee.” In addition to writing seven episodes of the Apple TV+ series “See,” his most recent television invention was “Warrior.” Renowned television programs like “Silo,” “Griselda,” “Interrogation,” and “Tyrant” have featured Cassie Pappas as a writer. The filmmaker, two-time BAFTA Award candidate Jonathan Van Tulleken, directed a few episodes of the critically acclaimed television series “Shōgun.”
