PEOPLE has been informed by several sources that Bobbie Jean Carter, the sister of Aaron and Nick Carter, has away. Her age was 41.
TMZ reported that Bobbie Jean passed away early on Saturday in Florida, citing Bobbie Jean’s mother, Jane Carter. “I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time,” Jane told the outlet, referring to the deaths of Leslie Carter, 25, in January 2012, and Aaron, 34, in November 2022. “I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean,” Jane said.
“When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement, but until then, I would request to be left to grieve in private,” she said.
Jane continued, saying, “[A] small child’s suffering at the loss of a parent must be far greater, no matter how strongly a parent feels the loss of a child. I would thus ask the empathetic person to offer up a prayer for my beloved eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who has lost both her mother and her father.”
PEOPLE has learned from sources close to the Carters that Bobbie Jean’s family believes she died from cardiac arrest, but further information about what exactly happened before her death is still unknown.
Although Bobbie Jean had been involved in her brothers’ respective music careers in the past, she lived a rather quiet life with her little daughter before to her passing.
She was employed by Aaron as a makeup artist and clothing stylist for his tours in the early 2000s, following his successful music career, according to TMZ.
