Cedric ‘Beastie’ Jones Dead at 46

Boxer Cedric “Beastie” Jones, who acted in the film Emancipation, has away. It was 1946.

His boxing gym acknowledged the actor and athlete’s passing on Sunday.

“We regret to inform you of the passing of Cedric ‘Beastie’ Jones, the founder of Beastie Boxing Gym,” the firm wrote in an Instagram post.


The statement went on, “Cedric was a loving father, devoted husband, kind son, brother, community leader, and amazing friend who inspired others.” “He sincerely wished for everyone to reach their full potential. His gift was him. Cedric has made it his life’s work to assist others both inside and outside of the gym.

According to the statement, Jones “inspired and helped people achieve what they previously thought impossible.”

The message concluded with the words, “Thank you for building our community, Cedric,” and included a photo of the business owner grinning. You will always be missed.

As to the details provided by his gym, Jones passed away on October 16.

Director of Emancipation Antoine Fuqua posted condolences on social media after learning of his loss.

“To my wonderful brother and buddy, R.I.P. On Instagram, he said, “You were always the light in the room and on the set.

Jones was shown praying on screen during Fuqua’s homage.

“You are going to be incredibly missed and always adored. As you soar over the skies, may the wind always be beneath your wings, champion. Dream squad for eternity🙏🏿💪🏿✊🏿,” Fuqua went on.

Jones seems to explain how he got the nickname “Beastie” during his prayer.

The actor declared, “The God in me is the reason for the beast in me.”

He also conveyed his appreciation for his family and his capacity to assist others.

“I thank you for my wife, I thank you for my kids, I thank you for those who are positive individuals in my life,” he stated. “I pray for growth, I pray for prosperity, I pray for strength, I pray that I’m able to motivate and inspire people to be better — not just in the gym, but in life.”

The cause of death has not been disclosed to the public.

His spouse invited friends and family to come together last week so they could run from Beastie Gym to Manhattan Beach Pier in his honor. Attendees on October 22 were urged to show support for the Jones family by dressing in black and white.

“I’m having a hard time understanding this. You have my sincere sympathy, pal. Basketball Wives actress Jennifer Williams commented, “God please watch over his beautiful wife and family 🙏🏽,” under Cedric’s most recent Instagram post.

Jones starred in several movies, including The Terminal List, The Magnificent Seven, Southpaw, Princess of the Row, and Marshall County, in addition to the Will Smith-directed film Emancipation from 2022.
