The Ramsey family both before and after JonBenét’s 1996 murder will be covered in the next eight-episode limited series.As an investigation looks into their possible role in their child’s death, parents John and Patsy are grieving the loss of their child.
According to a press release from September 2024, “The story of Patsy and John Ramsey is at the heart of the series.” Examining the unshakable bond between these two complicated individuals who had dedicated themselves and their kids to creating the story of a flawless, privileged life only to have it shattered one Christmas night in 1996.
In 1999, Patsy and John were indicted by a grand jury following the murder of JonBenét. However, due to the lack of evidence, the Boulder district attorney never signed the indictment. When DNA testing revealed that the DNA discovered on JonBenét’s body belonged to an unrelated guy, the couple was cleared in 2008.

Clive Owen and Melissa McCarthy are scheduled to play John and Patsy, respectively. Shea Whigham, Owen Teague, Alison Pill, Garrett Hedlund, and Will Patton are all featured in the series. Burke’s part has not yet been filled.

John Ramsey (Clive Owen)
Prior to receiving a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for his portrayal in Closer, John Ramsey (Clive Owen) was well-known for his parts in Chancer, Close My Eyes, and Croupier. Owen played Bill Clinton in the third season of American Crime Story and starred in The Knick after receiving his first Emmy nomination for his performance in Hemingway & Gellhorn.
He has two children with his spouse, Sarah-Jane Fenton.
