Everything to Know ‘Not Dead Yet’ Season 2

Not Dead Yet, a series starring Gina Rodriguez, became an instant smash when it debuted on ABC in 2023. The sitcom will now return for a second season, which is scheduled to premiere in early 2024. The second season of the program is looking even better than the first, thanks to the exciting addition of veteran comedy actor Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond) to the cast. Here is all the information you require about Not Dead Yet Season 2, including the cast and date of release.

Is there a Not Dead Yet Season 2?

Living up to its moniker, Not Dead Yet was given a second season renewal back in May 2023. Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up, published in 2020, served as the inspiration for the Casey Johnson and David Windsor television series. It follows Rodriguez’s character, Nell Serrano, a broke and recently unmarried woman, as she attempts to rebuild her life and profession. Writing obituaries is the only job Nell can find, so she accepts it. However, Nell soon discovers that she has the ability to see the ghosts of the individuals she is writing about.

Throughout the spring and summer of 2023, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes caused production on numerous series, including Not Dead Yet, to be postponed. Nevertheless, a lot sooner than many fans anticipated, the series will be available on our televisions.

How did Not Dead Yet Season 1 end?

In the first season of Not Dead Yet, Nell’s former fiancé Phillip (Ed Weeks) visits the city in an attempt to patch things up. But when he tries to make her pay for her part in their relationship’s breakdown, things don’t turn out the way she expects them to. Nell is able to face her sins and rekindle her romance with Phillip after getting some spectral guidance from guest actress Rhea Perlman. The couple spends several weeks getting back together, but throughout that time, Nell starts to alter who she is in order to make herself more like Phillip. Sadly, this causes her to lose her newly discovered capacity for communication with the dead.

Nell tries to tell Phillip about her experience talking to spirits, but he brushes it off as something that came from the stress of their split. He describes their future together, including Nell quitting her job, moving, and having to start over, but he assures her that everything would be okay. Although at first she agrees with his proposal, she ultimately comes to the realization that she needs to quit the relationship permanently and surround herself with people who appreciate her for who she is.
