Selena Gomez, who recently got engaged, chose to dress stylishly in menswear for her first significant event of 2025.
On Friday, January 3, the actress wore an all-white satin suit with a structured blazer, tie, and pants as she walked the red carpet at the 36th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards. She once removed her jacket to show off her matching mesh top and button-down vest while posing on the carpet.
Gomez’s slicked-back middle hairdo accentuated her natural-looking radiance. Her gorgeous marquis diamond ring, estimated to weigh six carats, was a gift from her fiancé Benny Blanco that finished off her ensemble.
In honor of her film Emilia Pérez, the former cast member of Wizards of Waverly Place joined the celebration. The festival’s Vanguard Award goes to the project directed by Jacques Audiard. The prize will also be given to the movie’s costars Edgar Ramírez, Zoe Saldaña, and Karla Sofia Gascón in addition to Audiard and Gomez.
Gomez is nominated for a Golden Globe for best supporting actress for Emilia Perez in addition to the Vanguard Award. She expressed her gratitude for the nomination to PEOPLE at the Academy Women’s Luncheon Presented by Chanel last month.
Before Sunday’s awards ceremony, Gomez, 32, told PEOPLE, “I’m overwhelmed, very, very honored, and grateful.” “I’m eager to see what occurs.”
She also talked candidly about how she handles undesired negativity from the outside world.
“For me, it’s funny,” she tells PEOPLE. Although others claim it’s a protection mechanism, I occasionally find it to be a fantastic diversion from the noise. Additionally, you should laugh with your pals or engage in some lighthearted activity.
Speaking of surrounding oneself with family, Gomez has been spending a lot of time with Blanco, especially around the holidays. As an engaged couple, the two celebrated Christmas and New Year’s Eve together.
