The actor from Beyond Paradise proposed to Dodkins in November 2011, 18 months into their relationship. Despite his on-screen presence, Marshall rarely mentions his wife in interviews and keeps a low profile on social media.

The couple expressed a wish for a small wedding while leading a low-key lifestyle. Marshall, who played Adam in a wedding scene in a BT commercial, revealed his disdain of lavish weddings, claiming that even the set’s mock weddings made him sick.

On a snowy day, the pair married at the Swan Hotel, with roughly 30 guests watching the civil ceremony conducted by a registrar in the hotel’s garden room.

Kris Marshall and his wife Hannah Dodkin share two children

Marshall, best known for his roles in series such as Death in Paradise, has two children with his wife, Dodkin: Elsie, nine, and Thomas, six.

In an August 2022 interview with the Daily Mail, he revealed how his children have helped him deal with his impatience.

“I was at my son’s sports day the other day and it was very hot,” the actor said, recalling an event at his son’s sports day. I was becoming itchy, so I went over to him and sat with him for the most informative talk.”

In addition, he indicated that under normal conditions, he would have walked away or returned to his car during his son’s sports day. He did, however, have a deep talk with his son.

The Somerset native emphasised the importance of grabbing such opportunities, recognising that impatience has the ability to rob people of these priceless relationships.

In 2020, he openly admitted that he was leaving Death in Paradise to focus on his son’s education, recognising the need for a more organised atmosphere.

Despite his reservations about the decision while on a film set in Dagenham, Marshall valued possibilities like Beyond Paradise, a show filmed in his beloved West Country.
