In January, FOX will debut We Are Family, a brand-new game show co-hosted by Anthony Anderson, star of Black-ish, and his mother Doris Bowman. The program has a famous person’s relative singing while their famous relations hide behind a giant sphere that looms on the stage, in classic celebrity-guessing-game fashion. Following the non-famous person’s performance, the audience uses hints they were provided along the way—such as a picture of soup and crackers, as seen in the trailer—to try to determine who their star relative is.

There will be musical performances by those who are related to celebrities at We Are Family. The well-known relatives will emerge behind their common relatives, but a so-called “Super Sphere” will conceal their identity. With a chance to win up to $150,000, the studio audience will be given the option to guess the celebrity related of each act.
Who is hosting We Are Family?
We Are Family will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and his mother Doris Bowman, also known as Mama Doris. The mother-son team has experience working together because they co-starred on their E! reality show Trippin’ with Anthony Anderson and Mama Doris and the ABC panel show To Tell the Truth. Earlier in the year, Jamie Foxx and his daughter Corinne were replaced as hosts by the two.

Why aren’t Jamie Foxx and his daughter hosting We Are Family anymore?
Divergent accounts exist regarding the reasons behind Jamie Foxx and his daughter Corinne’s resignation from their roles as We Are Family hosts. A few point to schedule problems, which makes sense considering the production changes and delays caused by the strike for the upcoming TV season.
