Five persons were stabbed to death on Sunday in a Queens, New York, residence.
At a news conference on Sunday at Jamaica Hospital, NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey revealed that at approximately 5:10 a.m., officers got a 911 call reporting a “assault in progress,” during which “a young female caller stated that her cousin is killing her family members.”
When 28-year-old and 16-year-old police veterans arrived on the scene, they spoke with 38-year-old Courtney Gordon. stated Maddrey.

“They notice a man leaving as they approach the driveway. He has bags on his back. After asking the man a few questions, which took up around ten seconds, the man pulled a knife on our police. He hits the second cop in the head and stabs the first officer in the neck/chest region, according to Maddrey.
The 28-year veteran officer, according to Maddrey, was able to pull out his gun and “discharge his weapon to stop the assault.” Gordon was “pronounced dead on arrival” and the two cops were transferred to a nearby hospital.
A girl, age eleven, was discovered laying at the front of the house after more police arrived on the scene. She had “died of her injuries.”
According to Maddrey, there was a fire in the living room and entryway area, which prevented them from entering the house. Another resident of the house was taken to a nearby hospital when the New York Fire Department arrived on the scene and managed to put out the fire.
Upon entering, the NYFD discovered “three more victims, all dead.”
“We believe everyone who is dead — the family members, the four family members — were all because of stab wounds,” Maddrey stated. The police chief stated that the investigation is still underway and that the only weapon found at the scene was the knife that was used to hurt the cops.
Gordon was at the house visiting family, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny. Gordon has previously been arrested for domestic abuse in the Bronx. Despite the fact that Gordon’s acts remain unsolved, Kenny clarified that the 911 caller is undergoing questioning at the police station and “may be able to shed some light into what occurred.”
The victims’ identities remained undisclosed, however Kenny mentioned that the hospitalized injured party is a 61-year-old woman. Three dead bodies were discovered inside the house: a male in his 30s, a 12-year-old kid, and a 44-year-old female.
After the event, Kenny stated that the officers were doing “all right” and praised them for their “excellent job.”
