Early Life and High School

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected McCray in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL Draught. He participated in all one of the team’s 16 regular-season games as a rookie, tallying 25 total tackles and 3.5 sacks. In 2005, McCray participated in every one of the Jaguars’ 16 regular-season games and recorded 23 total tackles, including 5.5 sacks. He racked up 10 sacks and 49 total tackles in 2006. McCray had 24 tackles and three sacks in his final season with the Jaguars in 2007. He continued to play as the Jaguars advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs. New Orleans Saints
In March 2008, McCray agreed to a five-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. He participated in all 16 games during his first campaign and had six sacks. When McCray started in all three of the Saints’ postseason games leading up to Super Bowl XLIV in 2009, it was the most memorable season of his career. Kurt Warner, the quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, was briefly forced out of the game by a crucial block made by McCray during the first playoff game. He did, however, run into some difficulty when he illegally hit Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre during the NFC Championship game. Because of these two instances, he became known as “Quarterback Killa.” The Saints went on to upset the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV. This would be McCray’s last game with the team; he was waived in September after signing a one-year contract again and was dismissed in mid-2010.
