DaRon Bland’s family

DaRon grew up in Modesto, California, where he was born on July 12, 1999. Adrienne Topkins and Dwight Bland are his parents.

DaRon Bland’s career

DaRon’s first year of college was spent at Sacramento State. With 43 stops, 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, forced fumbles, two interceptions, and eight passes broken up in his junior year, he was selected to the Big Sky Conference first team.

After his senior season was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the US and rescheduled for the spring of 2021, he registered on the NCAA Transfer Portal. Ultimately, DaRon consented to relocate to Fresno State.

In his one and only season with the Bulldogs, he participated in 13 games and recorded 45 tackles, five passes defensed, and two interceptions. DaRon was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

DaRon intercepted Carson Wentz for the first time of his career on October 2, 2022. DaRon would then have two picks on December 4, 2022, against Matt Ryan, and another pick on December 24, 2022, against the Eagles, for his fifth interception of the season.

On September 10, 2023, DaRon made his first interception of the second season. Trevon Diggs intercepted a throw intended for New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones after it was intercepted by Saquon Barkley.

DaRon caught the deflected throw, returned it for his first touchdown of the contest. DaRon had two interceptions against Mac Jones on October 1, 2023, during a game against the New England Patriots. He converted one of those interceptions for six points.

On October 29, 2023, DaRon broke the Dallas Cowboys single-season record held by five previous players with a touchdown after returning a pick-six from Matthew Stafford. It was his third touchdown of the season.

On November 19, 2023, during a game against the Carolina Panthers, DaRon intercepted a pass from Bryce Young and returned it for a touchdown, tying both the NFL single-season record and the Dallas Cowboys career record.

This season, it was his fourth interception return. DaRon received the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award for his efforts.

On November 23, 2023, during the Dallas Cowboys’ victory over the Washington Commanders, DaRon broke the NFL single-season record, the Dallas Cowboys’ career record, and the NFL single-season record for the most defensive touchdowns. He did this by intercepting a pass from Sam Howell and returning it for his fifth interception return for a touchdown of the year.

Consequently, DaRon was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November.

DaRon and the Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement in May 2022 to a four-year contract worth $3,964,788. $304,788 in signing bonus and $991,197 in average yearly pay are included in the agreement.

For the 2023 NFL season, the cornerback will receive a base salary of $870,000, with a cap hit value of $946,197 and a dead cap value of $228,591. Thanks to the four-year contract, DaRon will remain with the team until the end of the 2025 NFL season.

Though DaRon’s playing days are still young, the talented cornerback has already accumulated a sizeable fortune from signing bonuses. According to Spotrac, Bland’s current four-year Dallas Cowboys contract includes a signing bonus worth $304,788.

The full money will be paid to him in four equal installments during his contract. The second installment of DaRon’s signing bonus for the 2023 campaign is worth $76,197.
