Given that Graham Walker, Patrick Mahomes’ half-brother, is pursuing a career in the NFL, the league may see another sibling tandem play.
Walker declared for the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday, January 30, according to Equity Sports.
The official announcement on Instagram stated, “@_itsinstagraham is a tight end you can’t ignore. Generational Recess Athlete, now taking over the gridiron.” “Happy 2025 NFL Draft Class! 🏆 2023 Frederick “Fritz” Pollard ’19 Award 📖 All-Ivy (Phil Steele) Third Team (2023), Fourth Team (2022)
Patrick “Pat” Mahomes Sr., Walker’s father, gushed about his son in the comments area.
That’s my boy. Pat responded to the post, “Let’s get it.”
From 2021 to 2023, Walker played wide receiver for Brown University, where he began his collegiate football career. He caught 127 passes, gained 1,496 receiving yards, and scored 16 touchdowns while attending the Ivy League school. In an attempt to improve his prospects of getting into the NFL, he switched to Rice University in 2024.
According to Marca, Walker stated at the time that “it was an easy choice to see the track record of guys going to the NFL and the development from the coaching staff.”
Graham did not grow up with his kid, but Pat is proud of him in the end. His stepfather, Gerry Howatt, and mother, Jessamyn Walker, reared him.
“Compared to the others, he is a little more relaxed. avoids the limelight and goes about working and grinding. In an interview with FOX4 in January 2024, Pat stated, “But a very impressive young man.” “I’m getting the chance to touch him a little more now that his manners are intact and his mom and stepdad did a great job with him.”
Although Pat and Graham were not close during Graham’s early years, they have recently become closer. Their shared passion for athletics has brought the father and son together. (Pat used to be a pitcher for several clubs in the Major Leagues.)
Regarding his son’s goals, Pat remarked, “He’s realized that he has a chance to play in the NFL, so he’s going to try and go out and explore all the possibilities.” “He will pursue any path that leads him to try to give himself the opportunity to play at the next level, as we all desire.”
Over the years, there hasn’t been a strong sibling bond between 29-year-old Patrick and Graham. But Pat revealed that the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs has been “supportive” of his younger brother’s football aspirations.
As usual, he is supportive. We’re looking forward to it,” the twins’ father told the outlet. “Hopefully, Patrick will get a chance to toss the football to him when he runs routes since Patrick always has his receivers come down.” “You know, he might be able to get [Graham] in the door as well because his word might be a little good.”
