“Charity Lawson’s Terrifying Injury Sends Shockwaves Through DWTS Finale: An Inside Look”

Charity Lawson almost missed the Dancing with the Stars championship dance.

On Tuesday’s episode of the ABC dancing competition series, the former Bachelorette disclosed that she almost lost the competition due to an injury she sustained throughout the week while practising her freestyle cheerleading routine.

In the minutes after Lawson was flung into the air, she was seen saying, “I’m scared I’m not going to open my mouth,” in video. “I’m scared.”

Artem Chigvintsev, Lawson’s business associate, clarified that the reality star, 27, suffered a jaw injury in the fall. The 41-year-old Russian dancer stated, “Charity fell pretty badly on her jaw and she’s in pain.” “She can’t open the jaw right now.”

“This is the thing: when you go epic with the big tricks, things like that can happen,” he stated. “I’m just praying that she’s okay.”

Lawson was taken away by an ambulance, its sirens blazing in the darkness. Fortunately, Lawson was able to come back the following day.

“I’m a cheerleader and this is the risk that it takes to pull off a show-stopping performance,” Lawson remarked. “We’re well, thank God, nothing is broken. The programme will continue.

“Yes, it’s scary having an injury knowing I have to go back and do that exact move with total confidence,” she said. “But nothing’s going to stop me from bringing home the Mirrorball [trophy].”

Lawson claimed that she wanted to perform this freestyle dance to highlight her experience as a competitive cheerleader before her accident. “My freestyle is going to incorporate some tricks and I hope that it leaves everyone truly speechless,” she stated. “I am among the best of the best so I have to do something extra to stand out.”

She did stand out, too. Judges gave Lawson’s routine tens all around, which is an amazing accomplishment given her injuries and the fact that she hadn’t done the exercise in “almost 7, 8 years.”

Judge Derek Hough remarked, “I don’t think we’ve ever seen anything like that on Dancing with the Stars history,” while Bruno Tonioli described it as “insane.”

The Mirrorball has been renamed in honour of the late DWTS judge and dance great Len Goodman, so viewers will have to wait and see if Lawson wins. Along with Ariana Madix, Jason Mraz, Alyson Hannigan, and Xochitl Gomez, she is in the finals.

ABC is airing Dancing with the Stars, which is also available to view onDisney+.
