Emma Roberts’ Movie Marathon: A Comprehensive List of Her Netflix Films

American actress Emma Roberts is well-known for her roles in a number of films and television programs, including as Scream 4, We’re the Millers, American Horror Story, Unfabulous, Lymelife, and Scream Queens.

In the upcoming film Madame Web, she will portray the important role of Mary Parker, the mother of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, marking her Marvel debut. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on February 14, 2024; the trailer was released in November 2023.

Aside from the superhero movie from Sony, Roberts has six other projects coming up that are attracting the interest of moviegoers. Similarly, those who have recently come into contact with her work are eager to see more of it, mostly on Netflix and other streaming services.

So, what Netflix movies star Emma Roberts? Has she ever worked for the massive streaming service on any projects? The response is in the affirmative because Netflix offers a number of Roberts-starring films for streaming.

Ashby (2015)

A little different from the films listed above is Ashby. Tony McNamara is the writer and director of this 2015 American crime comedy-drama. On April 19, 2015, it made its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

A few months later, on September 25, 2015, the movie was made available in theaters nationwide. “High school student Ed Wallis enters into a friendship with his neighbor, Ashby, a retired CIA assassin who only has a few months to live,” according to the official IMDb page’s synopsis.

Regarding the actors, the film stars Nat Wolff as Ed Wallis, Emma Roberts as Eloise, Sarah Silverman as June Wallis, Adam Aalderks as Valchek, Michael Lerner as Entwhistle, and Audrey Reid Couch as Hayley. Mickey Rourke played Ashby Holt in the film.

Holidate (2020)

Unlike previous films that were originally released in theaters before being added to Netflix’s collection, Holidate is likely Roberts’ first and only film to be released directly on the streaming service.

The movie was released on October 28, 2020, and is distributed by Netflix. In a similar vein, she played Sloane Benson alongside Andrew Bachelor as Neil, Jessica Capshaw as Abby, Manish Dayal as Faarooq, Alex Moffat as Peter, and Luke Bracey as Jackson.

The official summary of the romantic comedy, which was directed by John Whitesell, reads, “Fed up with being single on holidays, two strangers agree to be each other’s platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way.”

Hotel for Dogs (2009)

Another well-known film that helped Roberts succeed is Hotel for Dogs. The American family comedy film was directed by Thor Freudenthal, making his feature film debut on January 16, 2009.

Based on Lois Duncan’s 1971 novel of the same name, the film stars Roberts as Andi. Don Cheadle, Jake T. Austin, Kyla Pratt, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon, and Jake T. Austin were among the other gifted actors who joined the cast.

Roberts and Austin portray two orphanage siblings who are placed in foster care in the film. After being abandoned by their house, they and their dog ultimately discover an empty motel where they encounter several stray dogs. What follows is history!

Little Italy (2018)

Another romantic comedy picture that Roberts won praise from viewers is Little Italy. In it, Roberts plays Nicoletta Angioli, also known as Nikki, while actor Hayden Christensen plays Leonard Campoli, also known as Leo, who is her love interest.

The movie centers on Nikki and Leo, two children who grew up in Little Italy together but were split up because of family disputes. After a protracted separation, the pair eventually gets back together and begins a budding romance that they must now manage.

On August 24, 2018, the Canadian-American romantic comedy film made its theatrical debut in Canada. On September 21, 2018, it debuted in American theaters. The film’s awful writing drew harsh criticism.

Maybe I Do (2023)

One of Roberts’ most recent films to be added to Netflix’s collection is Maybe I Do. Based on his play Cheaters, Michael Jacobs wrote and directed this romantic comedy movie.

This is Jacobs’ first feature-length directing endeavor. The movie also features Emma Roberts as Michelle, Luke Bracey as Allen, Susan Sarandon as Monica, Richard Gere as Howard, Diane Keaton as Grace, and William H. Macy as Sam.

“Allen and Michelle are romantically involved. In order to finally talk about marriage, they choose to invite their parents. The official IMDb synopsis for the movie reads, “Turns out, the parents already know one another well, which leads to some differing opinions about marriage.”

The Hunt (2020)

The Hunt is a great option if you need a change of pace from Roberts’ romantic dramas or family-friendly shows on Netflix. The film could be compared to a cross between The Hunger Games and Squid Game.

Betty Gilpin, who plays Crystal May Creasey, is the main actress in the film. Roberts appears with her as Yoga Pants, accompanied by a number of other celebrities like Ike Barinholtz, Betty Gilpin, and Hilary Swank.

In a clearing, twelve strangers become conscious. They have no idea how or where they got there. The official summary of the ninety-minute R-rated film, “The Hunt,” states that the selected ones are unaware that they have been picked—for a very particular reason.

UglyDolls (2019)

Roberts provides the voice of Wedgehead in the animated musical adventure-comedy UglyDolls. The film is thought to be appropriate for families and suitable for viewers of all ages.

The voice cast of the animated movie features a number of well-known actors in addition to Roberts, including Nick Jonas, Kelly Clarkson, Lizzo, Blake Shelton, and Pitbull. Similarly, Alison Peck, Robert Rodriguez, and David Horvath wrote the film, while Kelly Asbury directed it.

The film, which debuted on May 3, 2019, reportedly had a $45–53 million budget and brought about $32.5 million at the box office globally. Regretfully, it was director Asbury’s final work; she passed away from cancer in June 2020.

Valentine’s Day (2010)

Roberts had previously been on TV alongside a number of well-known and rising stars in the entertainment business by 2010. But when she was chosen to play Grace in Garry Marshall’s Valentine’s Day, which debuted on February 12, 2010, things really took off.

Starring Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Julia Roberts, and Bryce Robinson were some of the actors in the Warner Bros. Pictures-distributed American romantic comedy.

In this film, Taylor Swift made her acting debut as well. The official IMDb synopsis for the film reads, “Intertwining couples and singles in Los Angeles break-up and make-up based on the pressures and expectations of Valentine’s Day.”

Wild Child (2008)

If we rank the movies according to their release dates, Wild Child comes in first place. It was released on August 15, 2008. Nick Moore directed this teen comedy film, which Netflix called poignant and endearing.

Roberts plays the title character in this film, Poppy Moore, an affluent but conceited and disobedient young woman from Malibu, California, whose widowed father sends her to an English boarding school. She discovers the essence of friendship and life there.

As Wild Child gradually developed a cult following, particularly in the UK, where the film is set, it helped Roberts achieve fame in the entertainment world. Roberts costarred in it with Natasha Richardson, Shirley Henderson, Georgia King, and Juno Temple.
