Sister Wives’ Recap: Kody Opens Up About College ‘Tryst’ and ‘Devastating’ Loss of Virginity

In the most recent Sister Wives episode, Kody Brown spoke up about the moment he lost his virginity.

“Are you curious about the most bizarre thing?” In the Sunday, January 5 broadcast of the TLC show, Kody, 55, posed the question to the audience. “I had a little tryst with my lover in college.”

Due of his relationship at school, the reality star said that he was “a naughty boy based on my faith.” “I lost my virginity in a relationship I had in college,” he said. For me, it was devastating. It was devastating.

Kody clarified that having sex outside of marriage bothered him because “purity” was “everything” in his early faith. “It is devastating,” he said to the cameras, “it’s like you’re working your way back for it.”

Kody, who later fathered 15 children with his four wives, disclosed that, aside from his first wife, Meri Brown, and his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, “nobody knew” about his college encounter.

Robyn, 46, found out about his history during the “first month we knew each other,” he added. “It was really because I don’t think I ever got intimate enough with [my other wives] Christine [Brown] and Janelle [Brown] to tell them,” he added.

Kody claimed that he “felt safe” with Robyn right away, which is why he was able to share such a personal information about his background with her.

He claimed of Janelle, 55, and Christine, 52, “I’m not safe with them and they’re not safe with me.”

During the show, Kody and Robyn discussed whether or not he ever truly loved his first three marriages, which led to his confession. In November 2021, Christine and Kody parted ways. Meri, 53, confirmed their split in January 2023 after Janelle declared her separation in December 2022.)

“You married them because you were in love with them, and you were together in the beginning, right?” Robyn questioned her spouse.

Before responding to his wife, he grimaced and said, “Please don’t make me compare.” Before Robyn entered his life, Kody said, he “didn’t know” what it was like to “really have deep divine love.”

During a confessional, Kody declared, “I’m a flip-flopping fool when it comes to those ex-wives,” asserting that we are all rewriting history. Meri is revising it like crazy, really. Indeed, I most likely enjoyed them, therefore I’m rewriting. Robyn was certain that I had fallen in love with them.

Kody went on to say that since his family’s dissolution, it has been “messing with her,” so he must have “sold” Robyn that they were “something special.”

When he subsequently admitted to Robyn that he was no longer in love with his ex-boyfriends, he asked her to “let that go” and “not hold it against” him. He claimed that he “agreed” with Meri, Janelle, and Christine that their individual relationships had ended.

“I’m not attempting to treat Robyn cruelly. However, when the reality finally smacks her squarely in the face, it’s really devastating for her,” Kody said.

TLC broadcasts Sister Wives every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.
