‘The Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner: Unraveling the Secrets Behind His Impressive Net Worth

On September 28, 2023, ABC debuted the American dating reality series The Golden Bachelor. Older adults make up the cast of this spin-off of The Bachelor.

The series’ main character is Hudson, Indiana-based restaurateur Gerry Turner, 72, a widower and retired businessman. Many people were interested in learning more about Turner once it was revealed that he was the new bachelor in Bachelor Nation.

Even though the ABC program did a decent job of providing information about the celebrity, many questions remain unanswered, such as “What is Gerry Turner’s net worth?” and “Where does Gerry Turner live?”

All we know about it is as follows.

Gerry Turner’s net worth

Turner has never disclosed his current net worth. Nonetheless, based on the information he has provided about his life and profession, many have calculated and assessed his net worth.

His primary source of wealth came from his time working as a restauranteur, most notably with the Mr. Quick franchise. Therefore, a large portion of his net worth is determined by his actual achievements in the workplace.

Establishing a family, running a restaurant, and living in one’s ideal home are not exactly characteristics of a frugal lifestyle. Turner also enjoys playing video games and sports like golf, which can be expensive hobbies.

When you combine that with Gerry’s most recent Golden Bachelor commercial appearance, it’s clear that he is wealthy. After adding it all up and making deductions, Turner’s estimated net worth is $1.5 million. This amount is based on his lifestyle choices and his career achievements.

Where does Gerry Turner live?

Turner supposedly sold his ideal home, which he now owns in Indiana. Situated on Big Long Lake in LaGrange County.

The property registry states that the waterfront home is more than 2,000 square feet. There is a second-story porch in front of the property that faces the lake, according to exclusive images obtained by The Sun. Turner’s boat and jet ski are visible from a private dock located on the first floor.

Natural light is brought in by the abundance of windows that line the front, side, and back of the house. His house has four bathrooms and four bedrooms.

Turner was reported to have paid $375,000 for the home. As of 2023, Zillow estimates its value to be $637,700.

The property features a gray-and-white exterior, a lovely balcony overlooking the sea, and was featured in an official TV preview. During the private tour, the retired restaurateur shared personal information about how he came to possess the home.

“In 1972, I tied the knot with my high school sweetheart, Toni,” he declared. After 43 incredible years of marriage, they were fortunate to receive two gorgeous grandchildren from their two daughters.

“We had a real typical but beautiful life full of love and full of activity,” he continued. And as time passed, I became retired. We were prepared and knew exactly what we wanted from our dream home.

On June 6, 2017, they closed on their ideal home after his wife Toni retired at the end of May 2017. From that point on, nothing went according to plan.

After becoming ill, Toni’s condition grew worse over the next three weeks. A bacterial disease affected her liver and kidneys.

He took her to the emergency room on July 7, 2017, and she died on July 15, 2017. “Every time I look at that lake, I think, ‘This is her dream,'” he added. She deserves this. Why am I the only one standing here?

He told People in September 2023 that he sold the lake house they had planned to retire to together after Toni passed away and enrolled in bereavement treatment, which he called “life-changing.”

Turner will, nevertheless, move past the upsetting experiences and his ideal home to be with Theresa Nist, his new wife.

As previously mentioned, Turner raised Angie and Jenny along with his late wife. He also has two granddaughters, Charlee and Payton.

Turner’s daughters encouraged him to try out for the program and were happy for him when he won the title of first Golden Bachelor. Turner appreciated Angie, Jenny, and Charlee’s advice greatly during the choosing process, and he realized Nist was the best option when he saw his family’s joyful response to his choice.

“Theresa was a silhouette for an awfully long time because of the way the sun was and the walk that she had to do,” he said to People. And my daughters beg me to let Theresa have a chance. Could it please be Theresa?

When the light finally reached Nist, his kids were overjoyed to see her. He acknowledged, “They were crying.” They were ecstatic.

The couple, who got engaged on the Golden Bachelor episode airing November 30, 2023, told People that they wanted to start their lives together in Charleston, South Carolina.

Turner asserted that their new home was possible because of fate. “It’s a notion I’ve dabbled with,” he added, “I’ve talked about moving to South Carolina when my family comes together for the last couple of years. Theresa responds, “Well, yeah, my son lives near Charleston in South Carolina,” during a private conversation.

Turner’s initial concern was that he wouldn’t get along with the person he ultimately lived with, but Nist didn’t cause him any problems.

“And all of a sudden, it seems like a major issue has disappeared,” he continued. “There is no longer a problem with compromising on things like where to live and how to get along with family members.”

It appears that following their marriage, they will carry out their intentions. They declared they will get married in a live, televised ceremony after getting engaged.

“We are going to get married, we’re going to do it as quickly as we can because, at our age, we don’t have a lot of time to waste,” Turner declared in the After the Final Rose special. We are getting married as soon as we can organize a wedding schedule!”

ABC will premiere The Golden Wedding of the Golden Bachelor on January 4, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET.
