‘Slime You Out’ – First-Ever Collaboration Of Drake and SZA

In advance of his upcoming eighth studio album, “For All the Dogs,” Canadian-born rapper Drake enlisted SZA for their first in-studio collaboration, “Slime You Out.”

The song, which was co-produced by Drake and Noel Cadastre, an OVO signee, was made available on Friday morning. The lyrics of the song, which include the line, “I’m slimin’ you for them kid choices you made,” give a clear explanation for the album cover that the group recently released on Instagram.

SZA confirmed suspicions that she will appear on the single when she uploaded the track’s cover art after Drake tagged her in a photo of Halle Berry drenched in green slime during the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

Listeners have been anxiously awaiting the Drake and SZA duet since the two purportedly dated. Drake rapped on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now,” “Yeah, said she wanna fuck to some SZA, wait / ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08,” to which SZA responded via X/Twitter, “So it was actually 2009,” affirming that “anybody who really knows me and was around during this time can confirm.. it’s all love all peace.”

SZA sings, “You ain’t ’bout the shit you rappin’ about,” and Drake responds, “Sayin’ that I’m too guarded ’bout my feelings, who the fuck even asked you?” It appears that the artists are playing on these rumors in “Slime You Out.”

The song is the lead single from Drake’s upcoming eighth studio album, “For All the Dogs,” which is set to be released on September 22. On his current U.S. tour with 21 Savage, Drake stated that he would be releasing a track from the album during the Austin stop. He continued, “I know y’all excited to hear the record. “I realize that it’s still a few weeks away. This week, I’m going to release a song for you. Yes, indeed. What an era, what an era.

At the Detroit stop of his tour on July 8, Drake also alluded to a potential Nicki Minaj appearance in addition to SZA. “Nicki Minaj and I recorded our first song together in a very long time. I adore her a lot,” he declared.

Drake’s management team said about his next album: “He has been working on this album for a while… We’re waiting for him to finish the task since he just kind of kept recording after he dropped ‘Her Loss,’ he said. “The songs I’ve heard are amazing, and obviously from a managerial standpoint, it’s a truly incredible experience to work with an artist who can be on a tour this size and still hype the fans up even more by telling them there’s another project on the way,” the reviewer said.
