According to Wyoming police, a mother killed three of her four daughters with a gunshot wound before phoning a 911 dispatcher and taking her own life.
According to a news release from the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office, officers received a 911 call at approximately 1:30 p.m. local time on Monday, February 10 from a woman who was “reporting gunshots that occurred inside her home” and that her daughters had been shot.
According to the sheriff’s office, the woman told the dispatcher she thought her children were dead and that two of them would be found upstairs in their cribs and the other two would be found in a downstairs bedroom. She was later identified as Tranyelle Harshman by Fox 13 Now, the Associated Press, and KRTV.
According to the press release, Harshman, 32, allegedly informed the dispatcher that she “could be found in her upstairs bedroom and that she was going to do the same to herself.”
According to the announcement, “the dispatcher begged the female caller over the phone to stay on the line until responding units arrived.” The woman who called repeatedly said that it was too late and that she was unable to accomplish that. The call was cut off after many attempts to keep her on the line failed.
When officers got to their house in Byron, they discovered Harshman’s two and nine-year-old daughters dead. Two daughters, ages two and seven, were discovered alive. The head had been shot in all four.
According to authorities, Harshman was discovered alive when police arrived, having been shot once in the head. According to KRTV, she later passed away in a hospital from her wounds.
Later, the 2-year-old passed away on the spot. According to the announcement, the 7-year-old kid was flown to another facility for advanced level care after being taken to a nearby hospital.
A GoFundMe page established to support the father of the two eldest children claims that the girl is critically ill after suffering a severe traumatic brain damage.
The message stated, “The next few days will be crucial for her outcome.”
To support Cliff, Harshman’s spouse and the father of the two youngest girls, another GoFundMe page has been created.
Briana Baker, a friend of Harshman, told the Scripps News Group that Harshman struggled with mental health issues, including postpartum depression.
She stated that “everything can change in an instant.” “Never give yourself permission to believe that it couldn’t be me. “Remain kind and humble,” Baker said. “You never know what a person is going through mentally. Despite what this tragedy portrays her as, Tranyelle was not a monster. Her family doesn’t want her most difficult times to be remembered. She was witty, kind, and affectionate. Her primary concern in life was her children.
