Following the shooting deaths of their kids by their mother, who later committed suicide, two fathers from Wyoming are coming out.
Tranyelle Harshman is suspected by Wyoming police of shooting three of her four daughters in the head on Monday, February 10, before dialing 911 and then shooting herself at 1:30 p.m.
Cliff Harshman, Tranyelle’s husband, told KTVQ that he lost his stepdaughter Brailey, age 9, as well as his two-year-old children Brooke and Jordan. Olivia, his 7-year-old stepdaughter, made it through the gunfire.
He remarked, “I know this was something beyond what I can comprehend.” “I’m a complete wreck…. I’m at a loss for words to describe this to you. I’m furious with her for the choice she made.
According to Harshman, his spouse had combated mental health issues such as postpartum depression and PTSD.
“People don’t realize that mental illness is more than just a matter of willpower. Your brain has chemical imbalances. According to KTVQ, he stated, “It’s damaged pathways in your brain.” “She loved those kids and was an amazing mother.”
In a phone conversation with the Cowboy State Daily, Harshman said, “My wife was not a monster,” adding that she was receiving treatment.
“This is really uncharacteristic. According to the State Daily, he remarked, “It’s unbelievable what had happened.” Something didn’t function while we were receiving her assistance. I still adore her despite my anger toward her, and I also lost her.
Olivia and Brailey’s father, Quinn Blackmer, expressed his anger at Tranyelle to KTVQ.
He stated, “I’m doing everything I can to put that behind me for the time being and concentrate on the present, because that rage won’t bring my child back.”
On Monday, February 10, Tranyelle contacted 911 to report a shooting in the house, telling the dispatcher she thought her children were dead, according to the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office. She went on to say that two of them would be in their cribs upstairs, while the other two would be in a bedroom below.
According to the sheriff’s announcement, Tranyelle also informed the dispatcher that she “could be found in her upstairs bedroom and that she was going to do the same to herself.”
According to the announcement, “the dispatcher begged the female caller over the phone to stay on the line until responding units arrived.” The woman who called repeatedly said that it was too late and that she was unable to accomplish that. The call was cut off after many attempts to keep her on the line failed.
When officers got to Harshman’s house in Byron, they discovered that Tranyelle and the kids had been shot in the head. Later, Tranyelle passed away from her wounds in a hospital. After being taken to a nearby hospital, Olivia was airlifted to a different location.
Olivia underwent a “exploratory procedure on her brain to assess initial damages and to patch up the entrance and exit wounds,” according to a GoFundMe page created to assist with her medical expenses. Swelling is within the normal and expected range, according to several CT scans.
“Some good news that everyone is very optimistic from is that there is ZERO major blood vessel damage in her brain,” said the message. She was prepared for a possible deep medical coma administration today, but the team decided she didn’t require it after removing her head dressing.
“She is not out of the woods as the next few days are very crucial for swelling and will be closely monitored,” the message states.
“Peas in a pod” is how Blackmer characterized Olivia and Brailey. Most of the time, when you explain one, you also describe the other. According to KTVQ, those are the children you desire. “They’re just good kids who are humorous, courteous, and nice. Having them would be fortunate for anyone.
To aid with funeral costs, a GoFundMe page has also been created for Harshman.
