Finally, the third season of Euphoria has begun production. Hollywood strikes in 2023, cast schedule issues, and what seems like a lot of behind-the-scenes turmoil have all contributed to the lengthy delay of the third season of the HBO high school series. HBO obviously hopes that a single image of Zendaya in the role of Rue would be sufficient to keep viewers interested for the foreseeable future, even though we won’t see any new episodes until 2026. Euphoria Season 3 cast
Storm Reid declared in November 2024 that she would not be participating in Season 3 of Euphoria. At the Governors Awards, Reid told Rotten Tomatoes, “I am so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO, even though Gia isn’t returning to the third season.” “Euphoria’s a really special thing and I’m so glad that that’s a part of my legacy and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon.”
HBO previously told Variety that all of the main cast members would return for Season 3, with the exception of Barbie Ferreira, who announced her departure from the show in 2022. Ferreira discussed her departure from the show on the “Armchair Expert” podcast in April. Described as a “mutual decision,” she stated, “I don’t think there was a place for [Kat] to go.” “I don’t know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that,” Ferreira continued. Being able to avoid being the overweight best friend was something I truly wanted. They probably didn’t want it either, and I don’t want to play that either.” Additionally, she refuted reports that she had left the set of the second season.

Euphoria Season 3 release date prediction
HBO revealed in December 2024 that Euphoria is aiming for a 2026 launch, meaning that Season 2 will have ended nearly four years before the show’s eventual comeback. This information was released months after Variety revealed that Season 3 would start filming in January 2025.

There aren’t many details available about Season 3, although creator Sam Levinson told Elle in August 2023 that he’s thinking of the third season as a “film noir.” According to Levinson, Rue will be used throughout the season to “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”
