In relation to an alleged attack on a lady in Georgia, professional football wide receiver Kadarius Toney, who won two Super Bowl rings with the Kansas City Chiefs, was arrested last week on suspicion of aggravated assault.
Two-time Super Bowl winner Toney reportedly strangled a lady with enough force to “leave red marks on her neck and cause petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes,” according to an arrest warrant that PEOPLE was able to obtain.
Toney “took her phone away when she attempted to call 911 and canceled voice commands for the phone to call 911 while physically assaulting her,” according to another warrant accusing him of preventing someone from making an emergency call.
The alleged victim is named in the warrants; typically, PEOPLE does not make public the names of people who are accused of domestic abuse.
Toney’s home in Douglasville, Georgia, is where the alleged event took place on January 14; the arrest warrants were prepared the next day.
According to Douglas County jail records, Toney was taken into custody on February 6. Each accusation carried a $25,000 bond; as of February 7, he was out of detention.
TMZ was the first to report the arrest.
Toney played with the Cleveland Browns for three games last season. Before being moved to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022, he played for the New York Giants. He won the Super Bowl in 2023 and 2024 with the Chiefs.
