Man Charged for Assaulting Officers with Bottle

After two police officers were attacked in a Manhattan subway station, a suspect was taken into custody.

A DCPI representative identified the guy arrested the day before as 35-year-old Corinthian Hills in a statement to PEOPLE on Thursday, February 13.

Officers were performing a standard station check at the West 4th Street station just prior to 3 p.m. local time when the disturbance started.

According to the statement, Hills is charged with being “disorderly” while consuming wine from a glass bottle on the northbound platform on the A, C, and E lines.

According to the DCPI spokesperson, “the male slashed one officer’s left hand and broke a glass wine bottle as the officers tried to speak with the individual.”

Hills allegedly “bit the other officer’s left leg” when the officers tried to arrest him.

After being arrested, the person was transferred to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue for assessment. The statement said, “Both officers were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.”

Two counts of second-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, breaking municipal law, and disorderly behavior were brought against Hills.

Whether Hills has legal representation is not readily apparent.
