Patrick Mahomes Reflects on Chiefs’ Super Bowl Loss

Patrick Mahomes is thinking back on the Kansas City Chiefs’ heartbreaking loss in Super Bowl LIX.

After his team’s 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sunday’s crucial game, the 29-year-old quarterback for the Chiefs posted on X late Sunday, February 9, saying, “Thank you for all the love and support from #ChiefsKingdom.”

“Today I failed you all. I’ll never stop working, trying to learn, and improving as a result,” Patrick added. “I want to thank God for all of the opportunities he has given me.”

“We will be back,” the quarterback wrote at the end of his post.

Despite winning the previous two Super Bowls, the Chiefs failed to complete a three-peat in Sunday’s crucial game.

Just four weeks after giving birth to their third child, daughter Golden, Patrick received support from his wife, Brittany Mahomes, 29, who watched Sunday’s game from a suite inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The pair married in 2022 and has a 3-year-old daughter named Sterling and a 2-year-old son named Bronze.

During Sunday’s Super Bowl, Brittany was spotted posing with Bronze and Sterling close to the field. She looked stylish with an off-white corset and trousers pair with the word “Chiefs” written down one leg of the pants in red calligraphy. She had on a tiny off-white jacket, too.

On January 13, the Mahomes shared the news of the baby’s arrival on Instagram. They wrote, “•Golden Raye Mahomes• 1/12/25🎀✨,” as the description for a picture of the baby’s feet.

Patrick was fortunate to be with Brittany for the important occasion when the Chiefs received a playoff bye week, despite the fact that the delivery took place on what would normally be a game day. Brittany came back to Arrowhead Stadium a week after giving birth to support her husband as the Chiefs started their postseason run. She also joined him on the field to celebrate the Chiefs’ victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game on January 26, which guaranteed them a position in the 2025 Super Bowl.

Brittany provided an update on her health following the birth of Golden earlier this month.

On Monday, February 3, she shared a picture of her status on the wearable fitness tracker Whoop on her Instagram Story. She commented, “Ever since I have been home from having Golden I have had a green recovery score (except the first night).”

She went on: “I’m really perplexed, but I’m also relieved that I’m not pregnant and constantly exhausted. Better recovery with less sleep? Make sense of it.
