Authorities claim a mother in Seattle beat her kid to death with an extension cord, leading to her being charged with his murder.
According to reports from KIRO, King 5, and the Seattle Times, which reference a police affidavit, authorities claim that Denaya Young struck her kid because she thought he hadn’t finished his duties.
According to the publications, which cited the medical examiner, Young’s 14-year-old son was beaten to the point of 1,172 injuries before passing away on January 30.
According to King 5, the medical examiner thinks the teen’s death was caused by Sudden Inflammatory Response Syndrome, a condition in which the body pumps too much blood to many wounds that it is unable to sustain.
According to the complaint, Young reportedly claimed police she “lost count” of the number of times she hit her son, according to KIRO and the Times.
According to authorities, the teen’s three siblings were at home when the alleged fatal beating occurred, according to KIRO.
Young is accused with second-degree murder in relation to the death of her son. It’s unclear right now whether she has a lawyer or pleaded guilty.
