A pregnant teen from Wisconsin who is allegedly seeing a 40-year-old guy who may be the father of her kid has been the subject of an Amber Alert.
The Beaver Dam Police Department reports that 16-year-old Sophia Martha Franklin was last seen at her Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, residence around 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 2. Authorities said she is “believed” to be with Gary F. Day, 40, who was saw visiting Sophia’s house on Monday, February 3 at 7:48 p.m.
Sophia is expecting a child in three months. She weighs 186 pounds, is 5 feet 9 inches tall, and is classified as white. Her eyes are blue, and her hair is brown. The Amber Alert states that Day and Sophia are under a no-contact order.
Day is characterized as white, 165 pounds, and 5 feet 7 inches tall. He has green eyes and golden hair. The alert states, “Gary is known to be the father of the unborn child with Sophia.”
It is thought that Sophia and Day are driving a black Buick LaCrosse. The car had an Arkansas license plate with the number BBR 20L, according to Beaver Dam police, who received a complaint of a missing minor on Monday, February 3. But according to a police update on February 3, the car was spotted in Wisconsin that morning with the Pennsylvania license plate KGW5186.
Day is accused of two charges of kidnapping a child and two counts of enticing a child to cause mental, physical, or other harm, according to court documents was able to examine online. Each of the four charges is a felony. On Tuesday, February 4, an arrest warrant was also issued.
According to court documents FOX6 News was able to collect, Sophia and Day started communicating online in April 2024. Day made the trip to Wisconsin in order to transport Sophia to Arkansas. Police discovered her in Arkansas even though it was believed she was still in Beaver Dam. Sophia’s parents discovered an online exchange from late January, but she moved back to Wisconsin last year. According to the complaint, investigators think Sophia and Day were conversing.
On Facebook, the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas stated that they had “reason to believe” that Day and Sophia are traveling to the Austin, Arkansas, region. According to a criminal complaint, Day has connections to Austin, and authorities stated that he was under investigation and on probation for crimes against children, as reported by TMJ4.
Beaver Dam Police Chief John Kreuziger told FOX6 News, “We’re following up on those tips, and we’ve been getting a lot of them.” “We appreciate the public’s assistance with the tips; please keep sending us these suggestions, and we’ll investigate further. And bringing her home is the ultimate objective.
